Best Dog Training Books
Let’s face it – the family dog is just that, a part of the family.
But just like your kids, you need to train your dog to respect you and follow commands for you and the dog to be happy. The best dog training books will all tell you the same things.
No matter what you plan on doing with your dog, you need to have some type of control over him to make life easier. Whether you plan on hunting with him, utilizing him for home defense or just as a companion for the family, you need to spend some time with the dog to establish the rules.
In our opinion, there is nothing better than a well trained dog and nothing worse than a dog that doesn’t know and follow the rules.
Dog training doesn’t take long and can be enjoyable for both the dog and the family and with the best dog training books, it’s easy. Whether you have a puppy or an older dog, you can start at home, on walks or at the park. You don’t need to pay thousands of dollars for a trainer in most cases and the training you provide will be more suited to your specific tasks.
If you are a new dog owner, you will get frustrated and upset that it doesn’t always go the way you want it to, but don’t give up and keep at it. In the end, you will be happier with your dog and he will have a happier life.
There are a couple of books that I have in my library that can really help if you are just starting out with a new puppy or addition to the family. There are also some great programs out there that can help you get started.
We highly recommend using one or all of these to make sure you are training your new pet the most effective way. It also doesn’t hurt anything to go back over these when the need arises after the initial training.

If you are looking for books, then I can’t recommend the Dog series highly enough. These books were written long ago, but the techniques are still applicable and work every time. They are some of the best dog training books out there.
